About the role:
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Assistant QA Manager to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in software testing and quality assurance, combined with excellent leadership and communication skills. This role involves overseeing testing activities, ensuring product quality, and providing mentorship to a team of QA professionals. You will be responsible for guiding the testing process, resolving issues effectively, and collaborating with key stakeholders to align testing with project goals. With over 25 years of experience and rapid expansion, we are looking for a native English speaker to join our team.
What you’ll achieve:
- Oversee Software Testing: Manage and ensure the successful planning, design, execution, and reporting of tests to verify that the product meets all quality standards and is free of defects or errors.
- Collaborate with Stakeholders: Work closely with developers, product owners, business analysts, and other stakeholders to ensure testing activities are aligned with project and product goals.
- Effective Communication & Issue Resolution: Communicate test progress, issues, and solutions to stakeholders, addressing any issues that arise promptly and effectively.
- Team Leadership & Mentorship: Take full ownership of teams within your guild structure, providing guidance, coaching, and feedback to help develop team members' skills and drive continuous improvement.
- Test Management: Oversee test activities and ensure that all testing efforts are tracked, documented, and reported efficiently, keeping stakeholders informed throughout the process.
- Continuous Improvement: Contribute to the refinement of testing strategies, processes, and methodologies to increase efficiency, effectiveness, and overall product quality.
- Ownership of Testing Outcomes: Ensure that all tests align with product/project goals and objectives, maintaining high standards of quality while minimizing defects.
Skills you’ll need to bring:
Educational Background:- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
- 6-10 years of experience in software testing and quality assurance, with at least 1-2 years in a leadership or mentoring role.
- Proven experience in overseeing test planning, design, execution, and reporting processes.
- Strong experience in collaborating with cross-functional teams, including developers, product owners, and business analysts, to ensure alignment of testing efforts.
- Excellent communication skills to manage stakeholder relationships and report on testing outcomes and progress.
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to handle complex testing issues and provide effective solutions.
- Proficiency in test automation tools (e.g. Katalon) and frameworks (e.g., TestNG).
- Solid knowledge of API testing (using tools like Postman, SoapUI, or REST-assured).
- Experience with test management tools (e.g., Jira, TestRail, ALM) and version control tools (e.g., Git)
- Familiarity with Agile and Scrum methodologies and how they integrate with QA processes.
- Good to Have Katloon
- Must have ISTQB Certification
